Description
This exceptional decaffeinated coffee originates from the Quindio department in Colombia, a region renowned for its dedication to quality coffee cultivation. Sourced from 16 meticulously managed farms, each one places a strong emphasis on advanced farming techniques to grow premium coffee. These farms, overseen by local farm owner Hernan Israel Ocendo Usman in Armenia, are committed to ensuring that every bean meets the highest standards of excellence.
The coffee cherries are picked and processed with the same precision and care as our full-caf varieties, ensuring that every step of the journey maintains the integrity of the beans. Once harvested and processed, the coffee makes its way to Vancouver, where the decaffeination process is carefully handled by our partners at Swiss Water. Using a unique Green Coffee Extract (GCE) method, the beans are soaked, allowing the caffeine to naturally seep out without stripping away their rich flavors.
After the caffeine is removed, the beans are returned to the GCE to reabsorb any nuanced flavors that may have escaped, preserving the full character of the coffee. The result is a beautifully decaffeinated coffee that offers all the richness and depth of its caffeinated counterpart, without compromising on taste.
